Exciting news this week, with three different projects announcing their seed fund raise. GAM3S.GG continues to aim to be a platform that allows for gamers to be gamers and educate others about web3. Now with a rebrand and further funding, they can continue to develop and push forward with their plans. Xterio continues to push further into web3, with the parent company working on AI and a marketplace, while also working on Overworld. This market has been quite hard and quiet for everyone, many venture capitalists being a lot pickier than they were before with the P2E boom. I am excited to see what comes out of these raises and how they will continue to shape the future of web3 gaming.
Startale Labs previously announced a $3.5M raise in June and with the recent announcement that they are joining up with SONY is quite a big deal. SONY has already put out a patent in relation to NFTs. It seems like they continue with high due dilligence, it is no surprise that they would build out their own blockchain rather than use another network.
HYTOPIA (previously NFT Worlds) announces that they are launching beta pre registation next week. You can reserve your username, receive lootboxes and refer others to receive more lootboxes. With the MineCraft announcement it definitely set back their plans and caused a lot of FUD. They have essentially started over and continued to build throughout the bear market. It is exciting to see what they have developed.
Web3 focused streaming platform Xeenon announces due to the regulatory landscape in the US, they will have to close down their operations. While very supportive creators across the web3 ecosystem, it is unfortunately not surprising how hard it is to also enter the streaming landscape competing against the giants in the space.
